Under the Hood

Between the design and the hardware lies what we refer to as the "application layer". The Application Layer is the engine behind your site.

The Application layer is made of server-side technologies, such as PHP and browser-side technologies such as JavaScript. Think of it as the communication between the user's browser and the server.

All of our custom applications are built atop the Zend Framework, which is maintained by the people who maintain the PHP language. Zend Framework allows for rapid development of PHP applications by eliminating the need to write the "foundation" for projects.

We use the MooTools JavaScript Framework to bring the interface to life. MooTools also provides other functions such as animations, effects, drag-and-drop sortable lists and much more. See more at their demo site.
